This is a new key strategic project management position within our exciting and rapidly growing Global Strategic Demand Function which ensures a 3 Way Win lens on all business activity planning (consumer, customer, enterprise). A key contributor to the efficiency and sufficiency of our company’s future global end-to-end portfolio, the Business Activity Manager (BAM) will be responsible for the prioritisation and efficient completion of multiple project charters and the integrated activities and phases – insight into ideas, plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement & evaluate. This role will also focus on identifying process and policy gaps, deficiencies, and areas for improvement to create a more strategic plan for operations activities. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven track record in the management, governance and evaluation of agile portfolio operations. The Business Activity Manager will also be responsible for managing the total portfolio programme to provide reports and updates to the Global Portfolio Acceleration Director.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • The management & coordination of multiple portfolio development projects across reapplication (new formats/language/technical optimisations), renovation (product changes/enhancements) and innovation (new category entries) simultaneously on time within budget and within scope.

  • Monitoring and controlling all aross-functional business activities to ensure that the portfolio projects remain on track from insights through to launch to ensuring time-to-market deliverables are met.

  • Develop internal business partnerships and manage interfaces with all business functions including R&D, Packaging, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Graphic Design, Regulatory Affairs and Finance.

  • Run project team meetings to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects are on track.

  • Use appropriate project management tools to manage activity and ensure projects are reviewed at appropriate governance forums.

  • Ensuring all portfolio activities/phases lead to Portfolio efficiency and sufficiency aligned with our Global strategic plans, minimising the cost of goods and maximising profitability of Portfolio mix - review continuously project risks, financial deliverables, timings and other key success metrics.

  • Defining, maintaining, communicating & validating each stage of the Portfolio pipeline with senior leadership and cross-functionally to provide visibility and transparency on variances/changes to assumptions to the approved project baseline

  • Promote a solution-focused approach to drive operational initiatives for the portfolio mix.

  • Coordination of internal stakeholders, resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of multiple projects.

  • Ensuring efficient resource availability and allocation to projects.

  • Assist in the further development of the Portfolio Acceleration Framework and rollout across the business.

  • Ensures that quality project standards are met through the effective implementation or use of approved processes, methodologies and deliverables.

  • Be an advocate for change by continuously identifying gaps/deficiencies and areas for improvement within our bedrock processes and tools for the Portfolio Business Unit.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Approximately 8 years' experience in managing complex global projects, PMP certified a plus

  • Excellent project management skills, including leadership and problem-solving skills

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical and organizational skills

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong personal drive

  • Experience in change management and ability to champion new ways of working

  • Ability to effectively interact, influence, collaborate and negotiate on tactical and strategic issues with all levels of management and adjust to situations that involve conflicting goals

  • Ability to effectively empower others and delegate
